This Image's Creation Story:
Rocky Mountain National Park My goal was to summit Mount Meeker by sunrise. Didn’t make it. But after I took a beautiful alpinglow shot from the top of the Iron Gates, I mosied my way upward. This shot is not from the summit, but I think it is better compositionally than photos I’ve seen from the top. Near Meeker Ridge the rock changes color: ocher contrasts with white, and the outcrop in the foreground gives a sense of perspective. Long’s is a big peak, and towers above the range in the background.
