The original artwork I created was acrylic on textured panel, and inspired by the Newcomb Pottery that came out of Louisiana in the early part of the 20th century. Woman were the main potters, glazers, and designers here at the Newcomb College. This was a bold new path for female artisans of the era. The calm, weeping tree designs spoke to me. This is an adaptation inspired by my longing to own an original vase, that's well out of my price range. The Newcomb pottery today sells in the 8k to 32k range for the beautiful antique vessels.
